Anna grew up in Spain, attended law school at the University of Barcelona, and lived for extended periods of time in Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Bologna. As a result, she can talk with practically anybody. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and Catalan, while her “French and Dutch are a bit rusty,” she confesses modestly. Her professional experience is similarly varied. She worked in corporate affairs for a telecommunications company in Holland, headed international projects at Pompeu Fabra University, and conducted international business for a bank in Spain. This kind of experience is invaluable in real estate. “There is a common thread to all those positions,” she says. “They all involve managing relationships with clients, and that's the most important part of the job.” Anna's legal and cultural backgrounds are especially useful in guiding her clients through the complex paperwork and negotiations involved when buying or selling a home. “I have good communication skills, and am usually able to talk to people in a way that they can relate to,” she says. “In my travels I've met many different kinds of people, and you have to treat each one differently.” Anna is delighted that those travels brought her to the Bay Area. “I love the architecture, and I love the lifestyle,” she says. “I like the fact that you can walk to a café, buy your coffee, and sit down and read the newspaper. It feels very open-minded and European, and my neighbors are people like me, who travel and have cultural interests. I feel very comfortable here.” Anna's clients feel comfortable with her as well! |
